I have just finished an order for a woman who wanted to keep a part of the champagne bottle from her wedding, but wanted something that did not take up so much space. Here are the finished beads and earrings, recycled from the bottle. I hope she likes them!

My Jewellery

Now that I have given you a little of my background, I thought I would show you some of the work that I am currently making.
One of the things I make are Recycled Sea Glass Stud Earrings, which I make by melting Sea Glass from various places into droplets and finish with a silver plated earring post and sterling silver scroll. These earrings are not only a sustainable alternative to mined gems, but can serve as a memento of the place the sea glass was gathered.

I think that the variety of colours I have found myself on english beaches are just as beautiful and valuable as these mind gems, and they don't cost the earth! If you are interested in my Recycled Sea Glass Stud Earrings, please feel free to visit my Etsy and Folksy shops or email me on lgunningbown@hotmail.com

I also create Recycled Sea Glass Beads, which I feel are more difficult to make than regular glass beads, because with Sea Glass you never know what you are going to get. However, this is made up for by the fact  that they are recycled and sustainable

Hello!

Hi!
My name is Lauren and I am a jewellery student currently in the second year of a three year Bachelor of Arts Degree specialising in jewellery. My current body of work is inspired by natural and sustainable materials, especially melted sea glass. The physical artefacts that come from nature provide a wealth of aesthetic inspiration. As my work progresses I hope to provide a sustainable alternative to mined gems and create jewellery that provides an emotional connection to the place the materials are sourced.
for me, selling my work is as important and enjoyable as the actual making part and I currently sell my Jewellery on Etsy, Folksy, at Craft Markets and Stalls, and I am beginning to sell my work in Galleries and Shops which is very exiting!
If you would like to see more of my work, please feel free to visit my Esty and Folksy Shops and like my Facebook page:
